About P4P at UVA
Founded in 2003 at the University of Virginia
Pancakes for Parkinson's is an annual pancake breakfast hosted by UVA students. Our main goal is to serve those suffering from Parkinson's and their families by fundraising for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. We hope to provide an event where UVA students and the Charlottesville community can come together to eat pancakes in the spirit of service!

What is Parkinson's?
Parkinson's disease (PD) occurs when the brain cells that make dopamine, a chemical that helps manage movement, slowly stops working. Symptoms include tremors, slowness, stiffness, as well as problems with balance and walking. Parkinson's is known as a movement disorder and is unique to each person.
It is estimated that nearly 1 million people in the United States are affected by Parkinson's and more than 6 million people around the world.
